Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation and reduces stress and anxiety. Reiki practitioners use their hands just above or on guest's clothed body to deliver energy to the body, improving the flow and balance of energy to promote and support balance and healing.
In Japanese, the word “rei” encompasses a higher intelligence permeating all living and nonliving beings and shaping the universe itself, and the word “ki” represents the energy that flows through everything that is alive. Ki, often translated as “life force,” is known as qi or chi in other disciplines. The combination of the two words means, essentially, “spiritually guided life force energy.”
It is common to feel extremely tired and depleted of energy in the short-term following your Reiki session as your body copes with the changes in energy. It is always recommended to drink plenty of water in the weeks before and after a session.
It's best to receive three to five Reiki treatments one to two weeks apart. Once you see yourself improving you can space out treatments to one month or six weeks apart. Receiving regular Reiki treatments is excellent self-care and helps you to maintain holistic balance.
